伊麗莎白女皇圣誕講話
Since my last message of Christmas greetings to you all, the world has witnessed many great events and sweeping changes. But they are already part of the long record of history. Now, as ever, the important time for mankind is the futurn. The incoming full of hope and promise, and their course can still be shaped by our will and action. The Christmas message of peace on earth, good will toward men, remains the same. But we can only achieve this if we are all truly ambitious for what is good and honorable. Humanity can only make progress by determination and concerted effort. One such concerted effort has been the campaign to free the world from hunger.
I’m very happy to know that the people of the Common-wealth have responded so generously to this campaign. Much has been achieved but there is still much to do and on this day of reunions and festivities in the glow of Christmas. Let us remember the many undernourished people, young and old, scattered throughout the world. All my family joins me in sending every one of you best wishes for Christmas and may God"s blessing be with you, in the coming year!
自從我上次對(duì)各位的圣誕講話后,全世界都見證了眾多大事和規(guī)模浩大
的改變。而它們也已經(jīng)成為漫長(zhǎng)歷史記載的一部分內(nèi)容。現(xiàn)在如同以往一樣,人類重要的是未來(lái)。來(lái)年充滿著希望與繁榮,我們的意志和行動(dòng)都將影響到他們的事業(yè)。我的圣誕祝福也依然不變地包括祝地球和平和致以人類良好的意愿。但是只有在我們大家都真正地去致力于好的和可敬的事情時(shí),這個(gè)目標(biāo)才能得以實(shí)現(xiàn)。只有付之以決心與協(xié)同努力,人性才會(huì)進(jìn)步。其中需要協(xié)同努力的一件事就是使世界免于饑荒的斗爭(zhēng)。
我很高興地得知,英聯(lián)邦國(guó)家的子民對(duì)這場(chǎng)斗爭(zhēng)的反應(yīng)具有隱惻之心。盡管已卓見成效,但在這熱鬧的圣誕團(tuán)圓與歡慶的一天里,要做的事情還很多。讓我們記住,還有許許多沒(méi)有吃飽的人,青年人和老年人都有，分布在世界各地都有。我和我的全體家人一起向各位致以最良好的祝福，愿來(lái)年天佑我民�。▽�(shí)習(xí)編輯：夏根建）
